Weekend Update with ......

Who was that Saturday Night Live guy? Oh yeah - Kevin Nealin or somthing like that. Well, this is BUSACK Weekend Update.

Friday was our schools big Fall Festival. It went really well. M danced in her first performance and did really well - she is gifted. It was a long/tiring evening, but good. I collected and counted money all night and the kids had fun playing.

Saturday was a relaxing morning followed by 2 football games (last of the season) with beautiful weather. Saturday evening my three oldest had their first official babysitting job. They have done a lot of babysitting but usually for me or someone they know really well, so this was a new thing, but they were completely ready. They did great in my opinion and they had fun. They are so excited to actually earn some of their own money (and I am too!). While they babysat I went to a friends 40th birthday party downtown Boise. My 2 companions(Patti and Jesus) were marvelous as usual and very fun!

Sunday was church, visiting, naps for everyone (even me snuggled with my boys) and then we went to a harvest party in Merdian with our wonderful friends. It was Great! Dinner, games, fun, prizes, friends etc - all for FREE - my kinda party!

I took some pics that I'm hoping to add here later.

God is in a good mood!

Wow - the Power of God! I can't even begin to explain how blessed I have been with the renewed Joy I feel from experiencing full-on the presence of God and HIS awesomeness.

Friday I was SO blessed to be able to hear and see Kevin Dedmon and the school of supernatural ministry.

God did AMAZING things.

Thank you for my dear dear friend for inviting me and loving me!

Football, Friends, Food

After 2 very lazy boring days with no school, today was nicely busy with many friends.

First, my awesome family let me sleep in until 10 something. One of the girls had a friend stay over and because my window was open all night to listen to the rain, I awoke to the joyful sounds of 7 kids laughing and playing on the trampoline outside my window. MUSIC to my ears - they were all laughing and no arguing - AMAZING!!!

We had 3 football games to attend. L cheered at a game before the black clouds came upon us. M got through half of his football game before the skies opened up with thunder, lightning and rain. They cancelled half way through. However N's game was still 40 minutes out and the coaches determined it woudl blow over. It did and N's game was great. The minute his game ended the skies opened again with a nice refreshing rain.

Soaked and wet, we headed to an open house held in honor of our wonderful friends that are Christian missionaries in Haiti. Several years ago we lived with this family for 2 months while Loren remodeled an really messed up house. This family will always hold a special place in our hearts. Anyway over 2 years ago, God took them to Haiti to serve the Haitian people, moms, orphans and orphanage. It was wonderful to see them again and I selfishly can't wait until they live close by once again. It was really good for M to see other Haitian kids also. In fact we were blessed to meet a lady that was adopted from Haiti many years ago and has gone back to serve in Haiti. We also met her beautiful baby girl.

Also, we were introduced to some awesome purses, bags, coin purse, etc that are HANDMADE in Haiti by women trying to earn $$ to feed their children. The purses are made from plastic sacks of all colors, cut into strips and then crocheted. Incredible! We were blessed with a buy 1 get 5 more FREE! So all girls now have an authentic Handmade Haitian purse. I plan on using it as a conversation piece to enlighten people on Haiti. Anyway - Little L especially LOVES her purse, it's just the right size to fit some pretzels inside, or she can put her sippy cup in it to carry around. It is so stinkin cute! I'll have to get a pic. I asked her if she liked her purse, she said and I quote, "yes, I yuv it" she said it over and over!

THEN we came home for a quick dinner and headed off to church for a $1 pie auction, It was really cool. We had yummy pie to eat and got to bid $1 on whole pies. This kids were entertained.

Well, that was our fun day of Football, Friends and Food.

Nathan

Sweet, caring, loving NATHAN.

My 9 year old that is growing up before our eyes! He LOVES playing flag football (GO UPWARDS!), soccer, basketball, baseball. He does well in school and has the 2 best friends anyone could ever ask for!

His sisters and brother have always enjoyed auditioning for various plays, but Nathan would NEVER do it. Never, until last week. He wanted to audition for Mulan, a play at school. So, he, Matthew and Larissa auditioned. I was SO proud of Nathan for trying.

Nathan got in! Larissa and Matt did not, but they are fine with that. They (and Leah) will soon be heavily involved with "A Christmas Carol" a city production musical that will have 9 performances, very soon.

Anyway, WAY TO GO NATHAN for stepping out and trying! God has rewarded you for your effort.

SHOES - Glorious Shoes!

Who can beat $10 shoes and purses and Under $10 jewelry?

Even I can afford that, once in a while anyway.

I had the pleasure of attending a NEW type of home party the other night, thanks to my friend Tara.

All kinds of women's shoes, from cute teeny bopper flats to red hot stripper shoes to boots to CUTE heels of all shapes, styles and colors. Plus purses, belts and jewelry to match. The most expensive thing there was boots for $25, everything else - either $15, $10, $9, $7.

No presentation, no pressure - just stop by shop, eat and GO! It was really cool. I splurged and bought a really cute belt (that T and Z said made me look thinner - so I HAD to buy it) AND I got a FREE necklace and earring for signing up to have a party.

How fun is that?

I was scared!!

So I think I had stage fright AFTER my first time. Now I can't think of what to write, which is ludricous because I always have SOMETHING to say!

So I am going to stop overthinking and just write.

Sound good? ok! Thank you.

My FIRST time!

So here is the deal - I read my friends blogs almost daily (good bed time reading). But I often don't even remember what I've read because it's usually REALLY late at night and for some reason my retention rate is lacking at 2 am. Hmmmmm...... I wonder why?

Anyway..... as most of you know, I'm not a good picture taker, journalizer, scrapbooker, etc. (It's part of that consistency issue in my life that I struggle with.) But I've come to realize that since I'm addicted to my laptop, this might be a really good way to record some good memories for the kids. So, This is my first blog entry. I actually set it up months ago, but never got around to actually writing (partially because I forgot my blog name (and yes that name will have to change at some point) .....hee hee, must be that late night retention thing!) I just did double parenthesis - is that legal? Does this thing do spell check? WOW! so much to learn.

Anyway, thanks T, A and Z for the encouragement to do this. And sorry I copied your idea Z.

One question - is it odd that my 2 year old is fascinated, no obsessed, with the High School Musical 1 video? She knows the songs, the dances, etc. I know too much tv is bad for them, but..... how can I deny the girl?
