After 2 very lazy boring days with no school, today was nicely busy with many friends.
First, my awesome family let me sleep in until 10 something. One of the girls had a friend stay over and because my window was open all night to listen to the rain, I awoke to the joyful sounds of 7 kids laughing and playing on the trampoline outside my window. MUSIC to my ears - they were all laughing and no arguing - AMAZING!!!
We had 3 football games to attend. L cheered at a game before the black clouds came upon us. M got through half of his football game before the skies opened up with thunder, lightning and rain. They cancelled half way through. However N's game was still 40 minutes out and the coaches determined it woudl blow over. It did and N's game was great. The minute his game ended the skies opened again with a nice refreshing rain.
Soaked and wet, we headed to an open house held in honor of our wonderful friends that are Christian missionaries in Haiti. Several years ago we lived with this family for 2 months while Loren remodeled an really messed up house. This family will always hold a special place in our hearts. Anyway over 2 years ago, God took them to Haiti to serve the Haitian people, moms, orphans and orphanage. It was wonderful to see them again and I selfishly can't wait until they live close by once again. It was really good for M to see other Haitian kids also. In fact we were blessed to meet a lady that was adopted from Haiti many years ago and has gone back to serve in Haiti. We also met her beautiful baby girl.
Also, we were introduced to some awesome purses, bags, coin purse, etc that are HANDMADE in Haiti by women trying to earn $$ to feed their children. The purses are made from plastic sacks of all colors, cut into strips and then crocheted. Incredible! We were blessed with a buy 1 get 5 more FREE! So all girls now have an authentic Handmade Haitian purse. I plan on using it as a conversation piece to enlighten people on Haiti. Anyway - Little L especially LOVES her purse, it's just the right size to fit some pretzels inside, or she can put her sippy cup in it to carry around. It is so stinkin cute! I'll have to get a pic. I asked her if she liked her purse, she said and I quote, "yes, I yuv it" she said it over and over!
THEN we came home for a quick dinner and headed off to church for a $1 pie auction, It was really cool. We had yummy pie to eat and got to bid $1 on whole pies. This kids were entertained.
Well, that was our fun day of Football, Friends and Food.

Hi,
I got a comment from you on my blog about the adoption magnet bumper stickers...was not able to find another way to contact you. You can email me directly at monicalrobbins@msn.com and we can figure out shipping, etc. I'll make them as cheap as possible to ship. Also, I can then email you a flyer to share with your group. Thank you so, so much for your help!
Blessings,
Monica
